Groundskeeper

Job Description

Job Overview: The groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining and improving the outdoor environment of the property, including lawns, gardens, walkways, and other landscape features. The groundskeeper will perform a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep, ensuring that the grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities:

Lawn and Garden Care:

Mow lawns, trim edges, and maintain plant health.

Prune bushes, trees, and flowers.

Water plants and ensure proper irrigation.

Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed.

Remove dead plants and debris.

Grounds Maintenance:

Maintain and clear walkways, parking lots, and other outdoor areas.

Ensure all outdoor areas are free of debris and hazards.

Tool and Equipment Management:

Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws.

Ensure equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred.

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Physical labor, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Knowledge of landscape maintenance.

Ability to use landscaping tools and machinery safely and effectively.

Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

Good attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
