For our CCUS Business Development & Partnerships department we are seeking to recruit a Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) Development Analyst/Specialist (f/m/d).

A significant part of the carbon neutrality roadmap requires the adoption of new business concepts and/or new value-chains in Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS) with internal and external partners.

In this position you will support the development of innovative CCUS projects in a collaborative approach together with CCUS Group Leads, Group key functions as well as operational entities.

You will directly report to the position Director of CCUS Business Development & Partnerships. Your place of work will be Heidelberg, Germany.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Driving CCUS Projects & Roadmap Contribution

Actively involved in the development of diverse CCUS projects, working closely with CCUS Group Leads and operational teams to support Heidelberg Materials’ CO Neutrality Roadmap 2050.

Building Networks & Engaging Stakeholders

Developing a strong professional network within the CCUS community and maintaining close interaction with key players in the field.

Expanding Expertise Across the Value Chain

Continuously deepening knowledge of the CCUS value chain, with a particular focus on post-capture processes.

Supporting Knowledge Management & Reporting

Contributing to the department’s efforts in knowledge sharing, report structuring, and internal communication.

Creating Analyses & Business Cases

Preparing detailed analyses, crafting business cases, and delivering compelling presentations for ongoing projects.

Fostering Innovation & Project Development

Playing a key role in scouting new business concepts and value chains, while also supporting the advancement of existing projects toward final investment decisions.

Contributing to Funding Proposals

Assisting in the preparation and partial drafting of funding applications for promising CCUS initiatives.

YOUR PROFILE

Educational & Professional Background

A degree in business, commercial, or technical fields (Bachelor’s or Master’s) forms the foundation. Ideally, this is complemented by 1–2 years of relevant work experience - traineeships are fully recognized.

Interest & Motivation

A strong interest in the techno-economic aspects of CCUS drives your motivation. You’re eager to contribute to innovative projects and help shape sustainable solutions.

Skills & Working Style

Able to quickly absorb new information and translate it into structured outputs such as spreadsheets and presentations.

Comfortable working in dynamic environments and adapting your communication to various internal and external stakeholders.

Experienced in collaborating across diverse teams and confident in engaging with different departments on equal footing.
