What You’ll Do:
Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education
Provides instruction in science and individual assistance
Assesses educational needs of inmates
Develop lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
Provides instruction and individual assistance
Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
Maintains discipline and/or security
Counsel’s students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems
Attend meetings as required
Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
Inventories and orders supply and materials needed
Research, selects and recommends new teaching materials
Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
Performs other duties as assigned
Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for social studies & grade level to be assigned; Teacher 1, 71311, must also have baccalaureate degree or less; Teacher 2, 71312, must also have a baccalaureate degree & 20 additional quarter hrs. but less than master's degree; Teacher 3, 71313, must also have master's degree; Teacher 4, 71314, must also have master's degree & 30 hrs. of post-graduate study.
