Position Overview: Hockinson High School is seeking a dedicated Strength & Conditioning Coach to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for student-athletes in grades 7-12.

This program will support both male and female athletes across all sports, focusing on strength development, injury prevention, speed, agility, and overall athletic performance.

The coach will work closely with the Athletic Director and sports coaches to ensure athletes are prepared for competition while maintaining a safe and positive training environment.

Essential Functions: • Design and implement structured strength and conditioning programs for high school sports programs.

• Develop sport-specific training regimens that align with the needs of various teams and individual athletes.

• Provide instruction on proper lifting techniques, agility drills, and conditioning exercises.

• Educate athletes on injury prevention, recovery, and overall physical wellness.

• Work collaboratively with head coaches to enhance sport-specific performance goals.

• Ensure the safe use and maintenance of strength training equipment and facilities.

• Monitor athletes' progress and adjust training plans accordingly.

• Foster a culture of discipline, effort, and teamwork within the training environment.

• Promote inclusivity by working with athletes of all skill levels and abilities.

• Maintain a consistent training schedule that accommodates multiple teams and seasons.

• Keep abreast of new knowledge, innovative ideas, and techniques by attending clinics, workshops, and reading in the field, and encouraging assistant coaches to do the same.

• Model age-appropriate, sportsmanship-like behavior and maintain educationally appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

• Teach student-athletes to perform sound, safe fundamental techniques.

• Report any unsafe conditions to the facilities administrator and complete work orders in a timely manner to correct safety hazards.

• Follow district policies, site procedures, WIAA rules, and the WIAA Coaches' Code of Ethics.

• Have an understanding of rules and regulations regarding the sport as presented in the WIAA Handbook.

• Assist the Head Coach(s) and Athletic Director as needed, in carrying out the "Special Duties", as outlined.

• Provide accurate information needed to compile eligibility lists and other reports.

• Assume responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used.

• Organize and schedule sessions on a regular basis with the idea of developing the athletes' greatest potential.

• Apply discipline in a firm and positive manner as outlined in the Athletic Code.

• See that building regulations are understood and enforced.

• Emphasize safety precautions and be aware of best training and injury procedures.

Working Environment • Position requires flexibility with scheduling, including afternoon and evening hours to accommodate sports teams.

• Training sessions will take place in the high school weight room, gym, and outdoor facilities
