Node.js Developer Level III (Contractor)

Location: Denver, CO

Job Type: Contract

Department: Engineering / Software Development

Reports To: Technical Manager or Engineering Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Node.js Developer Level III to join our team as a contractor. This role involves developing scalable, cloud-based web applications and integrating third-party devices into an enterprise ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js, cloud services, and API development, with a passion for building resilient and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop server-side code to integrate third-party devices into the enterprise platform.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, and robust cloud-based services.

Manage CI/CD pipelines for various microservices.

Collaborate with QA teams to build automated test suites for application-level testing.

Apply industry best practices to solve complex business challenges.

Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integration and scalability.

Present and defend architectural and technical decisions to stakeholders.

Rapidly prototype solutions and iterate based on feedback.

Potential travel to headquarters in Philadelphia for team collaboration.

Required Qualifications

6–8 years of professional software development experience.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Node.js.

Proven experience in developing cloud-based web services with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

Experience in large-scale production deployments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

Strong background in designing software architecture for high-volume applications.

Proficiency in developing and maintaining APIs for web services.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Solid understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and debugging techniques.

•Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience in web application development.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience with data streaming and pipeline technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark).

Contributions to open-source projects.

Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Interest or experience in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
