Are you passionate about engines, hands-on machining, and mechanical work? Do you enjoy working with traditional machinery and take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship? We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an engine reconditioner.

This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in engine reconditioning, machining, and engineering who wants to build or further develop their skills in a workshop-based environment. Working in a workshop environment, you'll use a wide range of tools and equipment to recondition engine parts and contribute to the restoration of various engines for a variety of customers.

Your responsibilities will include inspecting, machining, and reconditioning engine components using both manual and powered equipment. This will involve reconditioning cylinder heads and engines, skimming cylinder heads and engine blocks, operating and maintaining lathes, mills, boring machines, pressure testers, valve seat cutter, valve refacing, and crankshaft grinding. Diagnosing issues and ensuring all work is completed to high standards of precision, quality, and accuracy. Maintaining workshop safety, cleanliness, and equipment care.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, willing to learn, and has a genuine interest in mechanical work. While full qualifications aren't required, but some experience or knowledge in a similar field of work is required. Ideally, you'll have a basic understanding of engine components and mechanical systems, be comfortable operating older manual machinery, and demonstrate a strong commitment to producing precise, quality work. You should be eager to learn, able to work independently as well as a part of a team and have good communication skills in both written and spoken English. Reliability, punctuality and a strong focus on safety are essential.
