Framer - Carpenter

MCool Pro Builders Ltd in Nanaimo, BC is looking for a Full-time position for Framer - Carpenter to assist in running our growing firm and could join immediately.

Nanaimo, BC V9R 4N8 Positions Available : 1 (One) Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible.

Compensation : $36.60 per hour Work hours: 30 hours/week Terms: Full-Time Language of Work : English Job duties and Responsibilities: Examine blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully understand the work requirements and specifications for a project.

Design and create detailed layouts that adhere to relevant building codes, using precise measuring tools to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join various materials, including wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other construction materials, following the project's design and structural needs.

Prepare detailed tenders and quotations for construction work, estimating costs, materials, and timeframes accurately.

Build strong foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect both walls and roof systems, ensuring stability and structural integrity.

Fit and install essential components, including windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware, to complete the construction and ensure proper functionality and aesthetics.

Effectively plan and manage work schedules, coordinating tasks and resources on the job site to meet deadlines and maintain efficient workflows.

Provide clear instructions, training, and supervision to apprentices, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in carpentry and construction practices.

Carry out maintenance, repair, and renovation work on residential properties, as well as wooden structures in diverse settings such as mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments, ensuring the continued safety and functionality of these structures.

Skill Requirements: Education : Completion of Secondary School is required.
