Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Repairs molds, and tools when needed; disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired.
· Perform preventative maintenance and repair on tooling equipment.
· Assemble, align and test completed tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gages, etc. to ensure proper function.
· Change out tooling inserts
· Perform visual inspection completed tools for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality.
· Use of Precision measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators and gauges.
· Maintain a critical spares inventory for key tooling related maintenance items to minimize downtime.
· Report and quarantine any non-compliant items.
· Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.
· Clean and disassemble on injection tooling.
· Help and assist completing repairs and modification for manufacturing tools.
· Make daily independent and team decisions related to priority ad technical job performance.
· Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
· Participation in quality and safety programs as assigned.
· Operation of a fork truck to move tools.
· Operation of company vehicle as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Environment:
· Noise level- usually moderate.
· Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment.
· Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
· Proficiency in math including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, decimals, the ability to convert between standard and metric measurements.
· Must demonstrate the ability to use required hand tools for the Tooling Department.
· Ability to take direction from Tooling Manager or senior Tool Makers.
· Ability to work independently, and with a team.
Education and Experience:
· Background in Machining or tool apprentice would be a plus.
· Familiarity with CAD software would be a plus.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
· Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk, and hear.
· Ability to use both hands and arms frequently.
· Frequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, twist and turn.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Legally authorized to work in the United States.
· Ability to read and write in English.
· 2+ years of experience.
