Position Overview
DL Cuisine is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook & Event Assistant to join our culinary team. This hybrid role will focus on food prep and kitchen support during production days and provide hands-on assistance during off and on-site catering events. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about food, organization, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
In the Kitchen (Prep Cook Duties)
Assist with preparation of proteins, vegetables, sauces, and sides according to standardized recipes and portioning guidelines
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Label and package meals (vacuum sealers and containers) with care and accuracy
Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation standards
Support with inventory tracking and kitchen restocking
Wash and sanitize utensils, equipment, and prep surfaces as needed
At Events (Event Assistant Duties)
Assist with packing, transporting, and unloading food and equipment for events
Set up buffet lines, grazing tables, passed appetizers, and dessert stations
Support the Executive Chef and service staff during events (plating, garnishing, serving, bussing)
Assist with cleanup, breakdown, and return of all equipment to DL Cuisine kitchen
Interact courteously and professionally with clients and guests
Qualifications
Previous kitchen prep or catering experience preferred.
Comfortable lifting up t0 40 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in fast-paced environments
Strong attention to detail and time management
Flexible schedule with availability for weekday prep and occasional weekend events
Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (for events)
