Funeral Home Liaison
(Portland, OR)
Job Summary:
The Funeral Home Liaison plans and facilitates activities to increase awareness of whole-body donation and improve relationships with third-party funeral homes, mortuaries, first-call services, and crematories nationwide. Ideal candidates have an interest in communications and marketing to effectively promote our mission and build strong partnerships.
Essential Tasks:
Research to identify the sources within a geographic area.
Contact funeral services, first-call services, and mortuaries to inquire about working with MedCure.
Answer incoming funeral home calls to address questions about whole-body donation.
Network with our developed funeral home relationships to identify their experience with our program, follow up on any feedback/issues identified, and provide additional education as needed.
Record contact information and maintain the funeral home contact database.
Process and mail death certificates received from funeral homes.
Process invoices received from funeral homes.

Computer Skills – proficient in navigating the internet, email correspondence, and using basic word processing programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs.
Accountability:
The Transport Liaison's actions and decisions directly impact the company’s revenue, operations, and reputation. This role requires independent decision-making within clearly stated standards and guidelines, with a normal level of supervision.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
3 – 5 years prior experience in funerary services, the health care field, or customer service and coordination.
Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications.
Excellent attention to detail and data entry.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
