Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced IP professional to lead and coordinate intellectual property (IP) activities for patent dockets based in the APAC region. This position will be based in Korea and will work closely with the global IP team at our U.S. headquarters to ensure alignment of the patent portfolio with the regional IP strategies with global objectives.
Responsibilities:
Supervising patent and trademark portfolios across APAC jurisdictions subject to global IP strategy.
Conducting patent analysis and research.
Conducting the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in liaison with outside counsels.
Monitoring industry and technology trends in the semiconductor sector.
Coordinating with external patent law firms and internal stakeholders on IP. matters: Collaborating with R&D, engineering, and legal teams to identify and protect key innovations/IP
Harvesting inventions with R&D teams at different sites.
Developing and executing regional IP strategies in alignment with global IP policies.
Preparing reports and providing regular updates to the U.S.-based corporate IP team.
Supporting IP-related audits, due diligence, and enforcement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in IP management, patent law, or IP strategy.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field.
Solid understanding of patent prosecution, IP portfolio management, and IP law.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently while aligning with U.S. headquarters’ direction and standards.
Experience working in a multinational or cross-border IP environment preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Korean patent attorney (변리사) license or other IP/legal certifications.
Prior experience in a patent agency preferred corporate IP team or patent law firm.
Working knowledge of semiconductor technology or high-tech IP landscape.
Proven ability to collaborate with global stakeholders and provide strategic IP insight.
