2nd Shift Entry Operator Helper
Summary
Working out of the HAI Oregon, Illinois Resin-Coated Sand Plant together with a team of hardworking and dedicated individuals, the position is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, filling, packaging and labeling of products in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications. The successful candidate will be trained to assist mixer and process operators in support of the production of finished goods, leading to possible advancement opportunities within the company.
Essential Functions
Moves finished products to designated packaging station using lift truck.
Hangs “super sack” bags designed to hold up to 4,000 lbs. on packing station fastener and starts machine to carefully pack finished goods according to customer orders.
Attaches appropriate labels to products and packages.
Places finished goods on designated pallet.
Keeps records of items packed.
Using lift truck, moves finished packaging to designated warehouse location.
Sweeps spillage and maintains a clean and safe work area.
Observes all safety and work rules, wearing all protective equipment as specified.
Satisfactory completion of comprehensive 6-month training period.
Additional Responsibilities
Subs for Process Operators as required.
Assists Process Operators and Mixer Operators in the performance of production of finished goods (i.e. staging raw materials, product sampling and quality control testing).
Cleans and washes equipment and machinery, using power gun to remove accumulated material from equipment.
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED
Experience, dependable plant employee with the ability to work in a limited supervised capacity is preferred.
Minimum of one year of packaging, machine operator or maintenance experience in manufacturing is preferred.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities
There is no supervisory responsibilities in this role.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Safety apparel and equipment such as gloves, hardhats, protective glasses, and protective footwear boots are required. Under certain circumstances, wearing a respirator may be required. Requires both indoor and outdoor work in all kinds of weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 20-30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally for moving raw materials and finished products.
Ability to push, pull or roll up to 100 pound drums.
Ability to stand, squat, bend and stretch frequently, especially when hanging “super sack” bags on fastener in packing station.
Ability to work in awkward or cramped spaces, or in high places on a platform.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, operate machines and inspect materials produced.
