Our Investment Banking client is seeking an Executive Director to lead the design, development, and strategic direction of our Equity Order Management Systems across key Asia markets. You will champion technology leadership, collaborating closely with trading, risk, compliance, and operations to deliver scalable, low-latency solutions. Deep expertise in Asia market regulations and order flows is essential to ensure our platform remains compliant and competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture roadmap for equity OMS components across the Asia region.
- Lead a globally distributed team of software engineers, QA, and DevOps in building high-performance, resilient systems.
- Drive technical standards, best practices, and code quality through design reviews, mentoring, and hands-on coding.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements (e.g., Hong Kong SFC, Japan FSA, Singapore MAS) into system capabilities.
- Collaborate with network, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize connectivity and latency to regional exchanges.
- Oversee incident response and post-mortem processes to continuously improve system availability and performance.
- Represent the OMS technology function in executive forums, regulatory audits, and vendor negotiations.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role delivering mission-critical trading systems.
- Proven track record in architecting and implementing Equity OMS or similar front-to-back trading platforms.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java or C++, including multi-threading, performance tuning, and memory management.
- In-depth knowledge of major Asia market rules and order types, such as HKEX, SGX, TSE, and others.
- Strong understanding of FIX protocol, market data feeds, and exchange connectivity.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and bridging business and technology.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Familiarity with real-time messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, Aeron).
- Prior exposure to low-latency networking and kernel-bypass technologies.
- Knowledge of algorithmic trading workflows and market microstructure.
