What You’ll Do:
As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in the establishment and monitoring of multifamily community capital projects in the company’s construction management and accounting systems. The Project Accountant will track projects from start to finish – managing capital budget, calculating project management and design fee revenue, and partnering closely with the Accounting team to ensure revenue and expenses are recorded timely and correctly in the general ledger.

What You’ll Own:
Own the full setup and ongoing maintenance of project accounts and cost codes in the accounting system
Organization and retention of project-related records, including contracts and purchase orders
Collection and managing lien releases for active projects
Oversight of supplier and contractor invoices related to a project to ensure accurate coding
Compile draw packages and coordinate with project manager during payment application process
Coordination and reconciliation of incoming and outgoing payments
Collaborate with project managers to investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
Timely project close-out and account reconciliation at project completion
Monitor and coordinate cash flow funding needs to ensure proper funding is available
Prepare timely and accurate monthly project management and design fee revenue summaries for management
Drive continuous process improvement through the adoption and optimization of technology

What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred, other degrees may be considered with relevant experience in project accounting or coordination.
3-5 years of project accounting or coordination, preferred
Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Entrata, Sage Intact, or similar)
