About the Role:

The AV/IT Help Desk Specialist provides tier 1 and tier 2 technology support and serves as the lead for in-house audio/visual (AV) needs, including setup, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance. This role is responsible for supporting AV for meetings and events, assisting with IT equipment use, and ensuring smooth functioning of hardware, software, and network-related systems for Global Ministries staff. The position is hybrid and reports to the Senior Director of IT.

Key Responsibilities:

Help Desk Support: Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets for hardware, software, and technology issues (including cloud-based systems) and provide end-user assistance.

AV Support: Serve as the on-site AV lead for meetings and events, including setup, configuration, and operation of projectors, sound systems, video conferencing, and related equipment.

Zoom/Teams Assistance: Provide support for video conferencing platforms, troubleshooting problems in real-time, and ensure effective virtual communication for the organization.

Equipment Management: Audit and test AV equipment regularly; recommend replacements or upgrades as needed. Collaborate with vendors and internal IT management for issue resolution.

Project Participation: Assist with AV/IT projects including system installations, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Information Technology, Systems, or related field (BA/BS preferred).

Four (4) years’ customer service experience.

Two (2) years of live production experience with AV setup and troubleshooting.

Two (2) years of technical experience with soundboards, AV lighting, and video equipment.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and network hardware/software integration.

Working Conditions:

Location: Atlanta, GA

Travel: Occasional travel required.

Schedule Flexibility: May require work outside standard business hours, including weekends.

Sedentary office/computer work for extended periods (approx. 40%)

Walking/standing and AV equipment handling (approx. 10%)
