Job Description
The Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist performs administrative duties for the Medical Staff. Coordinates and performs medical staff and advanced practice staff credentialing and privileging under the direction of the Manager, Medical Staff Services. Assists with various administrative duties, committee preparation, policy maintenance, and JCAHO Medical Staff Standards review and compliance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs routine and complex administrative duties for the Medical Staff and various departments. Works closely with Manager, Medical Staff Services to promote efficient processes of the Medical Staff Office.
Performs duties for Medical Staff and advanced practice professional credentialing and privileging.
Assists with maintenance of organized files (current and historical), policies, bylaws/rules and regulations, and manuals.
Assists with Medical Staff Office maintenance and continued development.
Assists with preparation and minutes of Medical Staff meetings.
Provides support and assistance to Administrative staff as needed.
Assists with various administrative duties for Administration including public relations, front-line screening and intervention for Administrative Staff, incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence, scheduling of meetings, maintenance of calendars, scheduling of meeting rooms, and automobile usage.
Education:
Associate’s Degree with a business, administration, or secretarial concentration required. Experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
Experience:
Five years’ related healthcare work experience required.
