The Mortgage Loan Processor will be responsible for gathering all necessary information needed for mortgage origination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner according to Bank policy, regulatory compliance guidelines, and legal requirements. This will include processing applications for review by credit and obtaining documents necessary for the credit decision, reviewing applications, and supporting documentation to determine completeness of file, completing data entry and system information as required. The Loan Processor will also initiate communications with customers, loan officers and other involved parties to the transaction to obtain necessary documentation and provide loan status updates to customers, resolve discrepancies, problems, and ensure quality customer service. The Loan Processor is expected to maintain accurate and current statuses, track loan status during the life cycle, meet key milestone dates, and proactively follow up on all loans to minimize origination cycle times.
Key Accountabilities
Review all loan applications for accuracy, completeness and compliance. Issue accurate and compliant disclosures accordingly. Monitor and maintain an application pipeline. Ensure delivery of initial disclosures or re-disclosure within expected time frames. Verify fees disclosed are accurate prior to issuance. Follow up on disclosure documentation issued and received within regulatory time frames through pipeline management practices. Process loans (Portfolio, RI Housing, FHA, VA, Conventional, Consumer, purchase, refinance, construction) under various programs in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures as well as meeting all regulatory requirements
Image / index, review and submit completed files via the loan origination system to the underwriting department.
Directly communicate with Loan Officers, clients, service providers and branch referring partner to gather and clear underwriting conditions. Primarily responsible for documentation collection from customers and follow-up on additional requirements. Provide exceptional service for both internal and external customers.
Ordering third party services for appraisal, flood, and title; verify vendor orders are delivered and received within a timely manner. Communicate with various companies to obtain flood certificate, title commitment, appraisal, and any additional third-party service documentation. Verify invoices are received and reconciled.
Review title work for liens, seasoning requirements, entity issues; review Hazard Insurance for Require Coverage; review Flood Certificate for flood status; verify Mortgage Insurance quotes and amount (if applicable); review appraisals for collateral, valuation, and accuracy.
Maintain knowledge of industry compliance standard rules and regulations.
Expected to minimize loan turn around times.
Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations, bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

Required Qualifications:
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Previous mortgage processing or equivalent work experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Working knowledge of FNMA / FHLMC, compliance, legal documents, and appropriate lending regulation guidelines for mortgage loans. General knowledge of consumer lending and industry regulations.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Must have the ability to resolve problems quickly.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities with strong organizational skills.
Proven success working in fast-paced environments with precise attention to detail.
