The Faculty Program Specialist contributes to the success of the Offices of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry (UR&CI) and Service-Learning (S-L) by planning, promoting, coordinating, scheduling, and executing programs for UR&CI and S-L, with a focus on faculty engagement and support.

The role supports the scheduling, promotion, and execution of faculty-focused events across all colleges and regional campuses; coordinates consultations for faculty on undergraduate research experiences and community-engaged teaching, ensuring support for programs throughout the student educational cycle from entry to graduation; provides information about undergraduate research and service-learning to faculty through a variety of means including presentations, workshops, emails and phone calls, utilizing Salesforce to track and manage individual interactions; conducts outreach and recruitment activities to raise awareness of UR&CI and S-L programs for faculty, such as volunteer reviewers for the Denman Forum, nominees for the Excellence in Undergraduate Mentoring Award, and applications for the Community-Engaged Course Development Grant, with the goal to attract a group of faculty representative of Ohio State; collaborates with the Program Director and Senior Program Specialist on the development of programs such as faculty teaching endorsements, faculty learning communities and faculty recognition awards; coordinates with relevant units across the institution, including the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning, and University Outreach & Engagement.

Collaborates with the Office of Academic Enrichment marketing and communications teams to support UR&CI and S-L marketing and communication across multiple platforms; handles administrative duties, primarily via Workday, related to faculty programming, including tasks such as the purchase of supplies and services, travel arrangement, and funds transfers; contributes to program planning and design as appropriate; and works on special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 4 years of relevant experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail; organized and efficient while working on multiple overlapping projects and priorities. Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team. Proficiency with university systems and experience with MS Office programs, Workday, and Qualtrics. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.

Desired:

Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in a faculty-facing or advanced customer service role. Participation in a mentored undergraduate research experience. Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to a professional audience. Experience with event planning and promotion. Ability to learn additional applications and programs as needed.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this position is $51,500 - $52,500 . The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
