Functional Description:
Davis Defense Group, Inc. (DDG) is seeking an Educational Technology Specialist (EdTech) to support the Enlisted College Distance Education Program (ECDEP), U. S. Marine Corps College of Distance Education and Training (CDET). The EdTech will provide Learning Management System (LMS) programming and support to two ECDEP programs – the Sergeants School Seminar Program (SSSP) and the Staff Noncommissioned Officer (SNCO) Leadership School Seminar Program (SLSSP). The position will be on site in Government provided space at Marine Corps University, Quantico VA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise for using and managing the CDET LMS.
Work with tier 1 support personnel and management to refine tier 1 technical support strategies.
Coordinate with and train tier 1 support personnel.
Produce multimedia educational course content.
Establish requested LMS courses.
Develop and deliver training materials (tutorials) on educational technology to instructors, course directors, regional directors, chief instructors and staff electronically.
Recommend technical solutions to adapt course distribution and content delivery to diverse user populations and technical environments.
Develop graphics, user interfaces, HTML5 animations, databases, technical procedure documentation, videos, documents, spreadsheets and audio files for instructional use in multiple formats.
Establish course organization, database management and design.
Conduct research and development of new system features.
Coordinate with course developers on technical aspects of course development within the LMS.
Act as the ECDEP point of contact for submitting trouble tickets and managing technical issues such as bug fixes, upgrades and routine maintenance downtime with the LMS.
Convert assessments for electronic delivery via the LMS and government assessment tool.
Required Experience:
Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, balancing scheduled technical requirements and ad hoc support requests.
Desired Experience:
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., Moodle).
Military or DOD experience or familiarity.
Education Requirements:
Associate degree in technology, Computer Programming or related field.
Moodle Academy course completions and/or certification desired.
