Cadet Program: EMS Placement Program
$20.00 an Hour during Training with an increase to $22.00 once Certified

Richmond Ambulance Authority (RAA) is currently recruiting for EMS Cadets. The RAA Cadet Program is a full-time comprehensive training program, which will provide accepted attendees the opportunity to become certified Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B).

RAA will cover ALL costs of the Cadet Program, which includes uniforms, required course materials, additional EMS certifications, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam fees*
Cadets are PAID to participate in the program!
Cadets are trained and mentored by skilled EMS professionals, who will provide them with access to high-quality emergency response and medical transport education while gaining firsthand field experience
Full-time employment as an EMT-B is guaranteed after successfully completing the program, passing the NREMT exam, and obtaining State Licensure
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of course material a week
Succeed in completing all required tests and/or certificates
Meet core competencies for completion of a fast-track program
Conduct self in a professional manner and ensure high levels of customer service
Maintain high standards for health, safety, welfare, and ethical behavior
Adhere to all policies of agencies, institutional and regulatory bodies
Follow directives set forth in the company’s SOG manual and Employee Handbook
REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate or GED certification
At least 18 years old
Valid Virginia Driver’s License
Acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with company policy
Successful completion of pre-employment screenings to include, drug screening, background check, and Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Candidates selected for employment are subject to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drugs. Candidates who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with the Richmond Ambulance Authority
Candidates selected for employment are subject to a fingerprint background screening. Candidates who refuse to be fingerprinted will be denied employment with the Richmond Ambulance Authority
Candidates selected for employment are subject to Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Candidates who refuse to complete the test may be denied employment with the Richmond Ambulance Authority
SIGN ON BONUS:
After successfully passing the NREMT assessment, the new employee will receive 42 hours of paid time off to use at any point during their employment with the Richmond Ambulance Authority.
