Insight Global is seeking Operations and Maintenance Technicians to join their them with a large energy client in Spring Hill, FL. The technicians ensure that all plant facilities and equipment are maintained in safe and efficient condition. Ideally looking for someone with heavy duty gas turbine power plant experience, or Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) background willing to learn gas turbine environment. Safety is paramount in this role, requiring adherence to all safety plans, rules, and regulations of the facility. The technicians will start and operate plant equipment, perform repairs and maintenance, and complete necessary administrative functions. This position demands a proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment and compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
Daily responsibilities include:
Start and operate plant equipment as required by testing or dispatch.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with the site's CMMS system.
Accurately calibrate devices with test equipment.
Complete logs, records, and work orders via the CMMS system.
Repair and maintain plant equipment in accordance with vendor recommendations and established plant procedures.
Perform routine inspections by observing electrical devices in operation and recommend necessary repairs.
Install, troubleshoot, modify, repair, test, calibrate, commission, and maintain a large variety of plant electrical equipment.
Update maintenance manuals, logs, and records throughout the shift.
Manage schedules, special projects, inventories, and parts tracking via the computerized maintenance management system.
Initiate purchase orders for parts.
Aggressively maintain a safe working environment, including good housekeeping practices of assigned work area.
Comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety policies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in combined or simple cycle power plant or related industrial environment
Minimum 2 years prior training and knowledge of Digital Control Systems and ability to use and modify computer programs.
Minimum 2 years electrical and instrumentation experience involving the operation and/or maintenance of industrial equipment.
Minimum 2 years’ experience troubleshooting industrial/power plant equipment and systems.
Understanding of control loops, relay logic, and motor controls.
Familiarity with DCS and turbine/generator controls.
Knowledge of Protective Relaying (Electrical).
Proficiency with power and precision tools.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders, wear respirators, pass a physical exam, work in hot and cold environments, lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and work in elevated areas.
High School Diploma or GED.
Schedule: The plant operates 24 x 7 coverage so the team members will essentially work a modified Dupont schedule - 12-hour shifts for the operators and 8–10-hour shifts when assigned to maintenance.
