POSITION: CONTROLLER (MANUFACTURING)

We are conducting a search for a Controller on behalf of our valued client, a stable and well-run privately held manufacturing company that has successfully stood the test of time. Position Overview:
The Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and lead a small, tight-knit team. This is a "working manager" role, requiring the ideal candidate to be comfortable with hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations and collaborating with their team to execute key tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional Oversight: Supervise accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), and payroll processes.
Month-End Close & Reporting: Perform month-end close procedures and prepare full financial statement packages.
Audit Coordination: Act as liaison with external auditors to support audit readiness and ensure compliance.
Cash Management: Manage cash flow efficiently to ensure liquidity and financial health.
Tax Compliance: Oversee tax filings and ensure adherence to all relevant regulations.
Financial Analysis: Provide actionable insights through detailed financial analysis to guide decision-making.
Inventory & Cost Accounting: Monitor inventory valuation and perform cost accounting to support manufacturing operations.
Process Improvement: Lead efforts to streamline and enhance accounting workflows and systems.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Experience: At least 10 years of accounting experience, with significant time spent in the manufacturing industry.
Skills: Proven experience leading the month-end close, preparing financial statements, general ledger accounting, reviewing and approving journal entries, cash management, inventory and cost accounting, financial analysis, budget analysis, preparing for audits
Leadership: A minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience, with a proven track record of directing teams.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel capabilities.
Attributes: Detail-oriented, hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
