To qualify for a Tax Examiner Associate, you should document on your online application the following:

Undergraduate core program in a business-related field or public administration

Two (2) courses in accounting (please attach a copy of your academic transcript to your online application)

Three (3) months’ experience in customer service

OR equivalent qualifications for employment noted above

Technical Skills: Accounting and Finance, Business

Professional Skills: Active Learning, Customer Focus, Verbal Communication, Written Communication, Adaptability

Additional Information

Unless required by legislation or union contract, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 29, Step 1 of the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule, with an opportunity for a pay increase after 6 months of satisfactory performance.

The Ohio Department of Taxation is looking for Tax Examiner Associates.

As a Tax Examiner Associate (TEA), you will:

· Play a crucial role in assisting, educating, and providing system assistance to taxpayers through working correspondence via email, letters, and telephone.

· Be given the opportunity to learn about and become an expert in the various taxes assessed by the State of Ohio.

· Undergo comprehensive training on a wide array of tax types such as individual income, school district withholding taxes, and business taxes.

The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
