Job Summary
The Estimator/Construction Superintendent is responsible for both pre-construction cost estimation and on-site project supervision of Carpenters, General contractors and Subcontractors. This role ensures accurate project budgeting and efficient execution, maintaining quality, safety, and schedule compliance from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
Develop detailed project budgets and cost breakdowns
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and pricing
Track actual costs vs. estimates and adjust future projections accordingly
Oversee daily on-site operations and manage construction crews.
Order materials for projects.
Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, and inspections.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with building codes
Maintain project schedule and resolve delays or conflicts
Conduct quality control checks and ensure workmanship meets standards
Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Eagleview) and project management tools
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
OSHA certification and familiarity with safety standards
Experience:
5+ years of experience in construction estimating and/or site supervision
Proven track record of managing budgets and leading field teams
Work Environment
Split between office (for estimating) and construction sites (for supervision)
May require travel between job sites
