Job Summary:
The golf shop staff’s main job is knowledge, hospitality, and customer service. The golf shop staff are the face of the Ohio State University Golf Club. They are the first person guests have contact with when they arrive on property and even before, through phone interactions. The golf shop staff is here to help answer any questions the guest/customer may have and to accommodate the guests accordingly. The golf shop staff has the duty of knowing and relaying all golf course rules and regulations including spectators, dress code, etc. and to make sure the guest is not left in the dark when it comes to the golf course policy.
The golf shop staff is also in charge of maintaining the golf shop itself which includes keeping the shop clean and assisting with the display of merchandise.
Qualifications:
Provide the highest levels of customer service. High attention to detail in an atmosphere of energy, excitement and enthusiasm leading to guest and employee satisfaction.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be a TEAM player.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to understand and enforce the rules and regulations of the club and to enforce safety procedures.
Organizing and coordinating skills.
Handles challenging situations with composure, maturity, and an understanding.
Attention to detail.
Ability to interact well with members and guests in a professional manner.
Work positively and cooperatively with a diverse workforce and membership base.
Count money and make change.
Answer the phone and communicate effectively with the caller.
Appearance Standards:
All golf shop staff are to be dressed in neat and clean golf attire
All employees are to be neatly groomed. Showered, hair combed etc… If you have facial hair it is to be neatly trimmed and groomed.
Physical Requirements:
Must be comfortable standing for many hours at a time.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable in all golf course eligibility, privileges and fees.
Enforce rules such as the dress code, spectator policy, each player has their own bag and set of clubs etc.
Keep golf shop looking neat and tidy; fold shirts and keep clean of debris.
Pay attention to all details (money transactions, tee times, member names/numbers).
