Position: Corporate Controller

Location: Bethesda, MD

Schedule: Hybrid

Compensation: 160,000-180,000

We are representing a growing publicly traded SaaS client in the Washington DC area. For this critical hire, we are seeking an experienced accounting leader to lead accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement in processes and systems. This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the CFO and will provide excellent career development for a rising accounting executive.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and mentor the accounting team, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, and revenue accounting.

· Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

· Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies in compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements.

· Manage preparation of all external financial reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and earnings releases.

· Collaborate with external auditors and ensure successful completion of audits and reviews.

· Stay current on GAAP standard and SEC requirements to provide technical accounting guidance.

· Serve as the business owner of NetSuite ERP system; lead improvements and integrations to enhance automation and scalability.

· Drive process improvements to support company growth, including implementation of new accounting systems and tools.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

· CPA highly preferred

· 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a public company setting.

· Strong understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.

· Proven experience leading external reporting and audits for a publicly traded company.

· Proficiency with NetSuite ERP is required; experience with system upgrades or integrations is a strong plus.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

· SaaS or technology industry experience preferred.
