Crane Operator
The Crane Operator is a member of our Machining Department responsible for operating an overhead crane to facilitate movement of product and materials for machining and inspection operations. Crane Operators in Machining start at $22.20 an hour. with .50 pr hr increases every 6 months until the established top rate of pay is achieved. Some training for this role will be done on 1st shift before employee is transitioned to 2nd or 3rd shift. Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS (Paid in increments throughout the first year of continued employment), and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Pre-operation inspection and testing of crane and associated equipment
Operation of overhead (cab) crane
Communication with operators and employees on floor
Timely reporting of equipment problems and issues
Maintaining all equipment and documentation needed for crane operation
Perform other department duties, as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities
Previous experience with heavy equipment operation required
Previous overhead crane experience preferred
Strong attention to detail
Must be able to work any shift, including some weekends
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
Must be comfortable working at heights
Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and vibration
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
