General Purpose of Position
The purpose of the Assembler position is to build, configure, assemble and/or package electrical, sprinkler, or irrigation component parts into subassemblies and finished products for irrigation systems.
An Assembler is a new or existing employee who has not been fully trained or demonstrated proficiency in specific skill areas and/or on specific machinery. These are employees who are placed in on the job training roles and who will remain as Assemblers in Training until predetermined proficiencies are achieved within the Assembly departments i.e. Electrical Assembly and Sprinkler Assembly.
Essential Functions
Must be able to accurately identify, count, transfer and place component part inventories at designated locations.
Must be able to follow very detailed assembly instructions.
Must be able to use hand tools correctly.
Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company.
Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
Must be able to read and interpret load lists, and sprinkler charts.
Must be able to learn, read and interpret blueprints/schematics; and other standard operating procedures.
Must be able to use and understand various specialized tools and testing equipment unique to the job.
Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with other employees, professional staff and management of the company.
Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning.
Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position.
Must be able to distinguish colors in order to assemble component parts and wires correctly.
Will perform other related duties as directed by supervision.
Describe Critical Skills, Experience, Training, Education, or Licenses Required
Requires the ability to learn and identify a wide range of raw materials and finished goods products. Must be able to read and interpret blue prints; and read and use tape measures accurately.
Machines, Tools, Equipment and Personal Protective Equipment Used
May require the use of ordinary hand tools, tape machines, and pneumatic stapler. Requires the use of safety glasses with side shields, safety footwear, gloves, and other personal protective equipment or clothing.
