Part-Time Technical Programmer Consultant (Special Projects)
Location: Remote Flexible Hours Contract / Part-Time
We're looking for a hands-on, technically curious consultant to work directly with a business leader on a variety of special projects. This is a part-time role for someone who enjoys building things, solving problems, and experimenting with modern tools—without the red tape.
What You'll Do:
Work side-by-side with the client (a technical leader) to help execute and troubleshoot ideas in real-time
Build, refine, and troubleshoot Power BI reports and ensure data accuracy
Develop and support Power Apps interfaces and backend databases
Help expand and maintain internal APIs and metrics dashboards
Explore and experiment with AI tools and technologies for internal use
Assist in documenting and transferring knowledge to help scale solutions within the company
Sometimes lead projects, sometimes act as a guide while the client builds—depends on the day
What We're Looking For:
Solid programming background, ideally with experience in .NET and related technologies
Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Microsoft Dataverse (or other database tools)
Familiarity with APIs and general backend development
Comfort working in a flexible, loosely defined environment—this isn’t your typical “requirements doc”setup
Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to test and learn quickly
Ability to translate high-level ideas into actionable technical steps
Patient and collaborative—some days you’ll build, others you’ll guide
Nice to Have:
Experience modernizing or replacing legacy systems
Background in building internal tools or dashboards
Any experience coaching or mentoring others in a hands-on technical setting
Why This Role?
If you like being a "Swiss Army knife" type of developer, enjoy project variety, and want to work on meaningful, fast-moving projects without getting bogged down in bureaucracy, this is a great fit. You’ll be helping someone “duplicate”themselves technically—and the projects are actually fun.
