Process and manage payroll for all employees accurately and on time (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly depending on the organization)
Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, wages, bonuses, benefits, and deductions
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to wages, taxes, and benefits
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports, including W-2s, W-4s, and 1099s
Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure proper employee data integration and financial reporting
Answer employee inquiries related to payroll, tax forms, and timesheets
Assist with audits by providing payroll information and documentation as needed
Stay current with changes in tax laws and payroll regulations Qualifications (Payroll Assistant):
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll processing role
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar)
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of discretion and confidentiality
