Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned DB2 Systems Programmer to join our enterprise infrastructure team within a leading financial institution. This role is critical for supporting and enhancing our mainframe DB2 environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance for mission-critical banking applications. The ideal candidate will bring in-depth experience with DB2 v12, mainframe monitoring tools, and IBM appliance integration, operating in a highly regulated environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM DB2 for z/OS (v12) and related tools in a mainframe environment.

Perform system-level support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for DB2 subsystems to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Administer and upgrade DB2 utilities including Query Monitor, Omegamon for DB2, and Log Analyzer.

Support, monitor, and manage zFS (z/OS File System) structures as they pertain to DB2 operations and tools.

Integrate and maintain IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA) solutions, ensuring alignment with performance and reporting objectives.

Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and change management processes.

Work closely with application development, operations, and security teams to ensure database compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a DB2 Systems Programmer on z/OS in an enterprise setting.

Strong hands-on experience with DB2 v12, including new function mode upgrades.

Demonstrated experience installing and upgrading DB2 tools such as Query Monitor, Omegamon, and Log Analyzer.

Proficiency in managing zFS file systems and understanding their impact on DB2 tools and utilities.

Experience with IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA), including configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.

Solid understanding of mainframe infrastructure, job control language (JCL), SMP/E, and IBM utilities.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the financial services or banking industry.

Knowledge of RACF, encryption protocols, and compliance standards such as SOX, FFIEC, or PCI DSS.

Familiarity with Agile/DevOps processes and automation tools for mainframe environments.
