The Ohio State University at Newark is seeking an Academic Success Coach. This position will independently manage and oversee the daily operations of learning communities (LC) on campus by leading the onboarding of new first-year LC students, teaching LC Arts & Science courses, overseeing LC recruitment, working closely with LC student academic peer mentors, as well as conducting interventions aimed to increase student success and retention. Additionally, this position will assist with the management of course Alerts in the OnCourse platform as well as academic probation programs in CMS, initiating communications with faculty, advisors, and other campus departments to provide critical intervention outreach with students of concern. This role will conduct meetings and outreach with students to teach academic & personal success strategies, inform about university policies, and make connections with critical resources to provide necessary proactive outreach interventions through a variety of methods (i.e.: in-person, text, phone, email, CMS, OnCourse EAB platform, etc). And lastly, the role will work in partnership with other academic success coach staff and director as well as campus partners on initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; two years of relevant experience; program planning and administration; experience working with college students, knowledge of university policies, rules and regulations; excellent communication skills; strong experience with Microsoft Excel

Master’s Degree in higher education or related field; 2-4 years of relevant experience; experience collaborating across many units; student programming experience
This temporary position is anticipated for August 1, 2025 - March 31, 2026 and is located on the Newark campus in Newark, Ohio.
The target salary for this position is $19.28 - $25.19/hour.
