Self-starting Project Engineer that will have a deep understanding of the importance and function of shear wall and uplift hardware and the critical role that hold-down anchors and foundations play in the integrity of threaded rod tie-down systems.
Responsibilities
Perform Pre-Design Analysis on all new shear wall submittals
Thorough review of structural plans for locations, loads, and requirements pertinent to shear wall and uplift tie-down system
Interpretation of takeoff, quote, and RTB notes for Design
Roadrunner (Excel Design program) set-up for Design
Familiar with code requirements and structural analysis applicable to shear wall overturning and roof uplift resistance
Offer flex support as designer and reviewer of submittals
Apply engineering concepts to improve system design and identify previously overlooked opportunities for value engineering
Perform job cost analysis for all new submittals
Serve as customer service engineering contact for Project Management Team
Qualifications
Required:
FE with ability to obtain PE License within four (4) years
Ability to work effectively in a high stress environment
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook with a background in AutoCAD and Bluebeam. Experience with Excel VBA a plus
Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Customer service oriented, accountable, and proactive
Preferred:
Prior CLP or NMBS knowledge and experience will be preferred
BSCE in Civil Engineering and (3-4) years of prior structural engineering
