Sultan Mining is looking for a Crane Operator (Manitowoc 4000 Friction Crane) at our sand pit in Grass Lake, MI!

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Lattice Boom Crawler Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with cranes, and will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position materials on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Safe and efficient use of Manitowoc 4000 Friction Crane to dig, move, load Sand, stone, and other concrete products

Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition

Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery

Adherence to all company policies and safety protocols

Ability to pass in-house MSHA training (Mine Safety and Health Administration)

Must be able to work varying Day shift times and Weekends as required

Conduct pre-operational checks on cranes and other heavy equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.

Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure proper load placement.

Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, including hours of operation and maintenance performed.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating cranes, with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation.

Familiarity with various types of machinery such as concrete mixers, dump trucks, front loader trucks, tankers, and farm machinery is preferred.

Previous experience working on construction sites is highly advantageous.

Valid crane operator certification or license is required.

Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation.

Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Ability to work outdoors/during varying weather climates as required

Able to pass a physical, drug scree, and background check
