Are you excited to take on a new challenge as a Data Developer? In this role, you will contribute to the development of data driven/centric activities including collection, harmonization, and preparation of data for reporting & analytics initiatives while working under the guidance of a Senior Data Developer.
You will be capable of independently developing end to end data pipelines following best practices in product development and operations. You will identify and implement continuous improvement to data engineering software tools, standards, practices and processes.
Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years’ minimum experience in data engineering or software development
Proficient in one or more programming languages such as: Python, SQL, C#, Java
Practical application of database design, data modelling and data warehousing concepts
Experience with cloud platforms, fundamentals, and core services centric to data
Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery methods (DevOps) and underlying technologies.
Experienced in translating complex business requirements into functional and technical requirements
Understanding of the modern Data warehouse concepts and/or Enterprise Analytics delivery model
Responsibilities:
Supports work on multiple projects as a technical team member
Develops, tests, and documents code to support the creation of robust and scalable applications for data reporting and analytics
Tests and builds automated processes to support product development lifecycle
Supports the implementation of data models to build the data lake for analytics and/or reporting use cases
Adheres to Suncor Data Modeling, Data Warehousing naming conventions, data governance, and Information Classification policies
Catalogue’s data artifacts that integrate information from various sources into a common repository
Location and other key details:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday at the head office, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
