SAP ABAP Consultant

Our Toronto based client is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant contractor to join their project immediately and will run until August 2026 with the possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should be a seasoned SAP ABAP developer with 5 + years of experience, demonstrating expertise in IDOCs, RFCs, BAPIs, ABAP Proxy interfaces, user exits, and BADIs. Familiarity with POS integration into SAP ECC/BW environments is required, along with proven ability to collaborate in high-level design sessions with implementation teams and business stakeholders. This role is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and customize user exits and BADIs (experience with these is a strong asset).

Configure and support BW POS Inbound Processing Engine (PIPE) using standard IDOC message type /POSDW/POSTR_CREATEMULTIPLE (PIPE BAPI for creating multiple POS transactions).

Manage SAP ECC POS interface processes including WP_PLU (Download article master data) WPUBON (Upload sales documents) WPUFIB (Upload Financial Accounting Interface POS data).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize POS integration solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in SAP ECC-to-POS system data flows.

Design and execute technical training sessions on ABAP security controls (e.g., authorization objects, S_DEVELOP checks) for finance-critical custom code (RFCs/BAPIs/Proxies).

Educate teams on securing financial IDOCs (e.g., WPUFIB) and custom ABAP programs handling transactional data.
