We're hiring a full-time W-2 Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide K–12 school-based services for the 2025–2026 school year. Position Details

Caseload: Multiple positions available, mostly 1:1 support positions

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Hours: 37.5 – 40 hours/week

Dates: August 2025 – May 2026

Location: Onsite in North Carolina

Responsibilities

Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in academic and social settings

Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and support teams to ensure access to instruction

Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and extracurricular activities

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards and school policies

Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions when appropriate

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in interpreting or related field preferred

Valid RID certification or EIPA score of 3.4 or higher preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Experience working in educational settings strongly preferred

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English

Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

Reliable, professional, and student-centered
