Job Description

The Grants and Contracts Senior Coordinator performs non-scientific document formatting and editing duties associated with grant applications for the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) members at the Ohio State University (OSU). This position works under the supervision of the OSUCCC Director of Program Grant Development and will also provide document specialist support to the CCC Grants team.

The Grants and Contracts Senior Coordinator provides extensive support for the preparation and submission of grant proposals, and research progress reports. This individual will create, collect, format, and upload grant applications/proposal documents to electronic submission systems in accordance with grant writing standards and the sponsors specifications/guidelines. The Grants and Contracts Senior Coordinator will assist the OPG Director and team, scientific investigators, CCC members and grants managers in preparing follow-up/progress reports and submissions, prepares tables and spreadsheets for project timelines, to accompany grant proposals, committee reports and updates. Works closely with investigators to create, edit, and review sponsor required investigator documentation and maintain CCC repositories of documentation.

This position also provides a broad range of basic to complex tasks relating to calendar management, document preparation, meeting paperwork, and the organization of team training. The Grants and Contracts Senior Coordinator works under the supervision of the OSUCCC Director of Program Grant Development and will provide dual document specialist support to both the CCC Program Grants and the CCC Grants team. This individual should be able to balance working autonomously as well as within a team; understand the importance of being detail orientated and organized, and be comfortable with flexibility and adaptability in a high volume and deadline driven environment.

Qualifications:

Required: High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. 2 years of relevant experience required, 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Desired: one year related medical/scientific experience. Previous experience in relevant setting is highly desirable. Experience in research administration or grant management preferred.

Preferred: Associates or Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience in relevant setting is highly desirable. 4-6 years of relevant experience in research administration or grant management preferred.

Proficiency required in Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel) and Adobe Pro. Substantial experience using computers to generate a variety of documents ranging from basic to complex is required. Effective communication skills and organizational skills required. Experience in research administration or grant management preferred; writing and editing skills desired; knowledge of university policies and procedures desired. Knowledge of institutional, federal and other electronic research administration systems desired; knowledge of OSU Office of Sponsored Programs policies and procedures desired. The Document Specialist should be self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting time sensitive deadlines.
