Receiver
Position Summary
Ensure quality and consistency of, and properly stores, all deliveries. Interacts with fellow employees, and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality.
Job Duties
Possesses in-depth knowledge of receiving procedures, following company standard.
Handle and store food products correctly (FIFO).
Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
Communicates product needs to the purchaser and chefs.
Properly sets-up the receiving station and performs opening/closing procedures as directed by management, including:
Review and utilize daily purchase orders
Wipes down and keeps receiving areas clean, orderly and sanitized
Performs opening side-work as prescribed
Performs closing side-work as prescribed
Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings (where applicable).
Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
Kitchen does include vulnerability to hot kitchen elements and cleaning products.
Walk-in Maintenance, Cleanliness and Organization.
Dry Storage Maintenance, Cleanliness and Organization.
Liquor and Beverage Maintenance, Cleanliness and Organization.
Extra Storage Area Maintenance, Cleanliness and Organization.
Organizing and Managing all Deliveries to Restaurant.
Assist in managing general kitchen, facilities, and equipment maintenance.
All other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
Must be able to bend or lift up to 50 lbs.
Skills/Experience
Six (6) months previous receiving experience, restaurant, or hotel experience.
Excellent listener and communicator.
Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
Team player and able to anticipate others’ needs.
Positive Attitude.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
