DUTIES
Responsibilities Include:
Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
Collaborate with the Survey Supervisor and/or Practice Leader in scheduling and coordinating field survey work
Supervise the work of the survey crew, evaluate priorities and coordinate and organize the work efforts without direct supervision
Ensure that field survey activities are performed in accordance with company standard procedures, standards set by applicable state statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping
Make technical decisions and communicate to Survey Supervisor and/or Practice Leader immediately
Maintain equipment by cleaning, completing preventative maintenance and performing calibrations
Oversee vehicle and equipment inventory
Request new equipment purchases and vehicle maintenance as necessary
Supervise use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes and electronic data collection
Effectively communicate with professional office staff regarding projects
Prepare daily time sheets, data logs and expense reports legibly and accurately
Provide input to Practice Leader regarding performance evaluation of crew members
Strive to make each project profitable
Prospect for new clients and opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Surveying /Engineering/Mathematics college coursework or commensurate experience preferred
Experience
5 years surveying experience required
Autocad experience required
Additional Requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
Work is performed under all weather conditions, often on busy streets or construction sites, involves extensive standing and walking, and includes clearing brush, working in difficult terrain, manholes and on difficult slopes. May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
