Automation & RMM Engineer

Job Overview

The Automation & RMM Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to design, build, and maintain efficient backend systems and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) automations.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation Ownership: Take loosely defined objectives and independently research, design, and implement complete automation solutions.

Scripting: Develop scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other languages for internal and client-focused automation, system maintenance, and integrations.

RMM Scripting & Automation: Build and enhance RMM scripts, automation packages, and scheduled tasks for proactive maintenance and endpoint oversight.

Monitoring Configuration: Maintain and optimize RMM policies, alerts, and inventory data to ensure visibility, reliability, and business alignment.

Testing & Documentation: Deliver well-documented, testable automation processes that are easy for others to maintain or update.

Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in IT support, automation, or DevOps roles.

Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell and JavaScript; Python or Bash experience is a plus.

Hands-on experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, or command-line tools.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Azure AD.

Ability to work independently on long-term projects with limited oversight, while communicating progress effectively.

Excellent written communication skills, especially for documentation and task updates.

Preferred Skills

Experience with automation platforms such as Power Automate, Rewst, or n8n.

Hands-on knowledge of NinjaRMM.

Understanding of patch management, alerting strategies, and backend server tuning.

Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD pipeline processes.
