Senior Data Analyst BI & Python

100% Remote, Canada (EST hours preferred)

Experience: 7+ Years

Role Summary: NearSource is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to drive enterprise-grade analytics, reporting, and insights across cross-functional teams. In this role, you'll support data-driven decision-making through advanced BI development, pipeline ownership, and scalable reporting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain dashboards for cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product

Execute ad-hoc analyses and behavioral deep dives to support critical business decisions

Lead the end-to-end data pipeline lifecycle: ingestion, modeling, and analytics

Design, build, test, and deploy scalable solutions using structured and unstructured data

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights

Translate business requirements into detailed epics and technical tasks

Own backlog grooming and sprint planning using Jira

Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all analysis and reporting

Mentor junior analysts through technical guidance and best practice sharing

Maintain documentation for data engineering workflows and tools

Must-Have Skills

7+ years of experience in big data systems, data processing, and SQL databases

5+ years of hands-on programming experience, preferably in Python

Strong SQL skills with experience in dimensional modeling and data warehousing (Hive, Snowflake)

Proficient with Power BI for dashboard development and insight sharing

Exposure to modern data stack tools: Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and Airflow

Experience working on product analytics and stakeholder-facing insights

Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Nice-to-Have Skills

Familiarity with scheduling tools like Airflow for pipeline orchestration

Understanding of version control and modular code practices

Interest in modern data quality and observability tools
