Description:

Engineering lead

Full Time

What you’ll be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering lead to work in the Special Test Measurements team within Measurement and Test Engineering. Measurement and Test Engineering are accountable for all aspects of measurement methods and capability to support experimental, production and aftermarket requirements.

The Engineering Lead role is a 12-month secondment enabling the successful candidate to develop leadership skills and become involved in a variety of areas across the Business. The role involves sales, supplier management and improvement opportunities within a customer facing role.

The Engineering Lead role will involve leading a small number of engineers within the team but also working closely with the Electronic Design Team. The primary role of the Electronic Design Team is the design/application of systems, electronic and software technologies to provide solutions to a wide range of electronic ground support equipment and engineering measurement problems in a global engine development and test arena. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of a mixed portfolio of new and mature capabilities via the Electronic Design Team and delivery of Electronic Ground Support Equipment to internal Rolls-Royce customers and a vast network of global external customers. This role will give the candidate exposure to a variety of areas of Rolls-Royce, including Engineering, Procurement, and Finance, in addition to external customers and our supply-chain.

Responsibilities:

The Engineering Lead role involves both direct and indirect leadership, Project Management and acting as the interface between a number of different areas within Rolls-Royce.

The main responsibilities will include:

Managing the workload and resource demand for a variety of electronic packages of work including telemetry and signal conditioning.

Ensuring delivery of our EGSE portfolio by managing our supply-chain and developing processes to streamline our design and sales processes.

Delivering our projects and products to customers on time: utilising load and capacity tools to manage workload and demand on the team.

Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with the required standard to ensure conformance to the engineering specification, and for promoting a product safety culture in the organisation.
