Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Location: Spartanburg, SC & Greater Spartanburg Area Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday Q4 Weekend Day Shifts & Weeknight On-Call Rotation

Carolina Nephrology, PA, a premier provider of kidney care, is actively seeking a compassionate and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role is ideal for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.You will provide comprehensive care across multiple care settings, including office-based practice, dialysis centers, and hospitals, while enjoying a structured yet flexible schedule. Our APPs are vital contributors to patient outcomes, physician collaboration, and continuity of care.

Position Highlights

Competitive salary: $90,000 - $130,000 based on experience

Eligible for our APP Incentive Plan

Scheduled Q4 call rotation: weekend day shifts with physician support and Q4 weeknight call as first acceptor

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up

Evaluate new and established patients in coordination with supervising physicians

Perform physical exams and assist with diagnostic or therapeutic procedures

Document patient interactions, histories, and care plans accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality care delivery

Required Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensed in South Carolina or

Physician Assistant (PA-C) certified by the NCCPA and licensed in South Carolina

Minimum 3 years of experience as an APP preferred

Experience in nephrology or chronic disease management strongly preferred

Current BLS and ACLS certification

Work Location

This position is based in Spartanburg, SC, with responsibilities across the Greater Spartanburg area, including travel to local dialysis centers and hospitals.

Educational Verification: confirms the applicant's claimed educational institution, including the years attended and the degree/diploma received.

Criminal History: includes review of criminal convictions and probation. The following factors will be considered for applicants with a criminal history:

The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.

The time since the conviction.

The number (if more than one) of convictions.

Whether hiring, transferring or promoting the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees or its customers and vendors.

Procedure

Final candidates must complete a background check authorization form and return it to Human Resources.

Human Resources will order the background check upon receipt of the signed release form, and either internal HR staff or an employment screening service will conduct the checks. A designated HR representative will review all results.

The HR representative will notify the hiring manager regarding the results of the check. In instances where negative or incomplete information is obtained, the appropriate management and the director of Human Resources will assess the potential risks and liabilities related to the job's requirements and determine whether the individual should be hired. If a decision not to hire or promote a candidate is made based on the results of a background check, there may be certain additional Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requirements that will be handled by Human Resources in conjunction with the employment screening service (if applicable).

Background check information will be maintained in a file separate from employees' personnel files for a minimum of five years.
