Be a Pedagogical Pioneer. Shape the Future of Learning.
Aban International School is preparing to open its doors in Summer 2026 with a bold mission: to redefine early years education in Chennai through the globally respected IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). As a IB Candidate School, we are building a team of visionary educators to lay the foundation for something extraordinary.
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced IB PYP Coordinator to join our founding leadership team. This is more than an academic position — it is an opportunity to be the torchbearer of the IB philosophy and embed its values into the DNA of a brand-new institution.
Why this role matters:
As the PYP Coordinator, you will:
• Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the IB PYP from the ground up.
• Collaborate with faculty, leadership, and the IB to ensure our curriculum is rigorous, inclusive, and inspiring.
• Be the central link between Aban International School and the International Baccalaureate Organization.
• Play a vital role in defining the culture, structure, and excellence of an institution set to become a flagship in Indian education.
What you'll bring:
• A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• A recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., M.Ed., or PGDIE).
• 4+ years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB PYP or international school setting.
• At least 1 year of IB leadership experience, preferably as a PYP Coordinator or in a similar academic coordination role.
• Deep understanding of IB PYP philosophy, curriculum planning, and transdisciplinary approaches.
• Outstanding communication, organization, leadership, and people-management skills.
What you'll do:
• Design and manage the Programme of Inquiry (POI), unit planners, and curriculum mapping.
• Mentor and guide teachers in effective IB planning, assessment, and pedagogy.
• Coordinate all IB communications, documentation, and compliance requirements.
• Lead professional development initiatives and cultivate a strong IB culture within the school.
• Work closely with students, parents, and the leadership team to ensure holistic, inquiry-based learning experiences.
If you’re passionate about making a difference and ready to be part of an innovative team, we want to hear from you!
