Electrical Lab Technician

Location: Columbus, IN

Pay: $25-26.67/hour (depending on shift)

Shifts Available:

- Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM ( (8-hour flexible shift)

OR

- Night Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Night shift hires will train on days (8:00 AM–7:00 PM) for the first 1–2 months before transitioning to nights.

Overview

We are seeking experienced Electronics Technician IIIs to join our Controls Lab operations team in Columbus, IN. These hands-on roles support lab test systems and equipment through troubleshooting, setup, maintenance, and process improvement on day or night shifts. Candidates must have a strong technical background and 5–7 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and complete assigned Work Orders for your shift

- Set up, configure, and maintain lab operations, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and test systems

- Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware issues involving lab and test equipment

- Perform and modify daily system setups (HIL/test equipment, including wiring harnesses for engines, sensors, instruments, etc.)

- Install and update software on test benches (plant models, configurations, sequences)

- Maintain and update system configuration documentation (hardware, cards, serial numbers)

- Complete scheduled maintenance and calibrations (including CAN panels, actuator carts, harnesses)

- Participate in process improvements, system upgrades, and documentation updates

- Assist with custom test hardware development and assembly (ROM boot setups, harnesses, instrument additions)

- Provide general lab support, troubleshooting guide updates, and training for lab personnel

- Help maintain inventory and lab organization

Required Skills & Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required

- 5–7 years’ experience as an electronics technician or in a similar technical role

- Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, troubleshooting methods, and use of electronic tools/data measurement systems

- Experience with HIL systems and automotive/industrial lab environments preferred

- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

- Ability to work both independently and in teams, with flexibility for assigned shift
