Job Summary

Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework-based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

Support Commercial Operations by facilitating Day Ahead and Real-Time Market Operations, including in-house solutions.

Troubleshoot issues across the Commercial Operations application portfolio.

Implement measures for security vulnerabilities, including password vault technology and server upgrades.

Identify challenges and propose effective solutions while aligning with client goals.

Generate infrastructure support documentation and provide training and mentoring to team members.

Maintain a high level of knowledge about the company's software/hardware products and develop advanced solutions for customer issues.

What We're Looking For:

Solution Engineer Senior (SG7):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 5 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Solution Engineer Principal (SG8):

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 7 years relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Nice-to-have:

Skills/Experience:

.NET Framework / .NET Core: Knowledge of differences; cross-platform development.

Programming Languages:

C#: Proficient in OOP, LINQ, async/await, delegates/events.

Java: Proficient in Java SE, OOP, data structures; familiar with Java EE, Hibernate, JPA, Spring (DI, AOP).

Web Development:

ASP.NET MVC: MVC design pattern knowledge.

ASP.NET Web API: RESTful service development.

Frontend Technologies: Strong in HTML/CSS/JavaScript; familiar with Bootstrap, jQuery, React.

Data Access:

Entity Framework: ORM and LINQ queries.

ADO.NET: Database operations.

Web Services: Experience with SOAP, RESTful services; familiar with WCF.

Security: Understanding of JWT, OAuth, and data protection.

Testing and Debugging: Proficient in unit testing (NUnit, MSTest), mocking, and Visual Studio debugging.

Deployment & CI/CD: Deploying .NET apps (IIS, Azure); CI/CD practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).

Containerization & Microservices: Familiarity with Docker; basic microservices design.

Performance Optimization: Knowledge of caching strategies and profiling.

Source Code Management: Proficient in Git; skills in branching and merging.

Database Skills:

SQL: Proficient in syntax and performance tuning.

Oracle: Knowledge of PL/SQL and architecture.

SQL Server: Experience with SSMS and ETL (SSIS).

Containerization: Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes; CI/CD with Helm in OpenShift.

Licenses/Certifications: Microsoft .NET Certifications

Location: Prefer candidate to live within 50 miles of Columbus, OH

Compensation Grade:

Compensation Range:

$85,081.00-106,352.50 USD

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
