Sewing Machine Mechanic

Job Description

Opsource of Gaffney has partnered with a Textile Manufacturing company located in the Union, SC area. We are currently recruiting for a Sewing Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The Sewing Maintenance Technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining automated sewing equipment on the 2nd shift.

Shift for the position:

2nd 3p-11:30p

3rd 11p-7:30am

Pay for the position:

$19-$23 (DOE)

Responsibilities include:

Monitor machine operation, including wear & tear of moving parts

Troubleshoot and repair all equipment as necessary

Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and other support functions

Give operating instructions to operators based on observations

Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Document safety, quality, and maintenance information

Ensuring that safety and quality is compliant with company policy

Qualifications include:

High School diploma or equivalent

Previous experience with industrial sewing equipment preferred (but will train)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions

Basic math skills

Lifting (light & heavy – up to 75 lbs.).

Manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as carrying (light & heavy), pushing (light & heavy), heavy pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, standing, crawling, reaching, handling while wearing proper PPE.

Seeing (acuity far, acuity near, depth perception, field of vision, accommodation, color vision).

Reading, writing, counting, measuring.

Work in heat and cold environment.

Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Working in Confined Spaces.
