Russell Tobin's client, an American utilities company, is hiring a Project/Data Analyst at Irwindale, CA (Hybrid)

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Irwindale, CA 91702 (Hybrid) (In office Wed and Thurs)

Duration: 12+ months with possible extension or conversion

Pay range: $33/hr - $35/hr

Schedule: Mon – Fri

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with 3–5 years of experience to support data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics, reporting, and insights generation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and SAS, along with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform data analysis and develop insights to drive operational decisions.

Synthesize and interpret large volumes of data efficiently.

Support data management, reporting, and visualization.

Develop clear and compelling presentations in PowerPoint for stakeholders.

Build and maintain SAS codes, queries, and reports.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Business, Statistics, Economics, or related discipline).

3–5 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) and PowerPoint.

Strong SAS programming skills (coding, queries, reporting).

Familiarity with Access or similar database tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Python for data analysis.

Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise systems.
