Full Stack Developer (Groovy Grails Java Angular)

Job Description

We have an opening for an experienced full-stack developer (5+ years, preferably 10+) working on an enterprise web app. We have several good developers on the team and are looking to add a person to increase velocity. Candidates must have experience in Groovy / Grails, or relevant Java experience that would allow them to dive in. Please provide your relevant background.

The app is for the management of educational assessments: authoring questions, assembling tests, delivering the tests online, and then analyzing results. It focuses on high-quality and high-stakes assessments, with advanced functionality such as machine learning models and remote proctoring integrations that transform and modernize the assessment process. This is far more complex than a simple quiz app; imagine a nationwide university admissions exam with dozens of question writers, custom development that governs exam structure/scheduling/payments, algorithms that adapt the test to each student, etc.

Some necessary skills:

- TypeScript and JavaScript

- Angular Framework (Version 6+)

- Material framework

- NPM and Node JS build tool

- Bootstrap (CSS/SASS)

- Groovy/Grails Web Framework (Version 3+) and Spring Boot or Micronaut

- Apache POI

- Experience with components and consuming JSON APIs

- Very good Git source control skills (creating branches, rebasing, opening pull requests, etc)

This position is fully remote, as we have developers currently in Argentina, USA, and Poland. Preference is given to Latin America and Europe/Africa, so time zones align with current staff.
